Nuclear Syria

Rough Sequence of Events:

Syria’s airspace is invaded by Israeli jets

Syria claims (later confirmed by the Pentagon) that munitions were dropped

World stays silent

Journalists begin to speculate on what the target was, and why it was targeted

Speculations that Israel was testing Syrian radar begin to emerge

American sources using Israeli intelligence apparently talk to journalists

Syria has an underground nuclear facility, with ties to North Korea

Journalists now speculate that Syrian nuclear facilities were the target

Articles appear left and right, quoting intelligence that the target was Syrian nuclear facilities.

If medicine is developed as fast as stories are spun in the media, then cancer would have been eradicated a long time ago.

I was going to ask you how you felt about how Israel invaded the air space and also the reports about Nuclear programs in Syria.

I myself am appalled at how the world lets Israel get away with what the do.

The United States and the rest of the world needs to figure it out that Israel is not a friendly nation.

I think the silence of world leaders is absurd. I think it's in everybody's interest to have one less war in the ME. If this reckless invasion were to spark a war the consequences will be dire for both countries, not to mention the breakdown of the the Syrian-Iraqi border, bringing the mess in Iraq into Syria.

The more I think about the invasion, the more I realize that the Israel knew that Syria would not fight back. War with Syria would mean that Israel has to fight the Palestinians within it's borders, Syria through the Golan heights, and possibly Hizbullah in the northern border. The US military seems already strained by the war in Iraq, meaning Israel would be less likely to receive the usual US support.

I don't think you guys quite get it. Syria is on America's list of state sponsors of terrorism and its nuclear watch list. If you don't think a nuclear Syria (or Iran) is a serious threat to Western security you are unforgivably naive. When Israeli jets bombed Iraq's Osirak nuclear plant in 1981, everyone criticized them . . . until the first Gulf War. Then everyone was grateful for Israeli action. Mark my words: the same will prove true in this instance.

I usually don't reply to those who don't leave information about them selves and post as anonymous but...

I really doubt that Syria is trying to develope Nuclear Weapons. It is just a ploy by the Bush administration. Why would anyone think that the world is safe with Israel having Nuclear Weapons? Why won't Israel let inspectors into their facilities? Why won't Israel sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty?

No the danger is not Syria or Iran working in a Nuclear program right now the real danger is Israel having nuclear weapons.

anonymous, I think you, like many others suffer from an extreme case of amnesia. Did you forget the infamous presentation where Collin Powell presented his "evidence" of Iraq's WMD's?
The WMD's are yet to be found. Before you come and leave nonsensical comments, go educate yourself and for the love of god stop being a media parrot.
