Tsunami Money
Tsunami aid is said to be pouring in from all over the world to help the victims. So just about how much is the world giving? a mere 550 million dollars. That may seem like a large amount at first, but think the 90 thousand million dollars that Bill Gates controls. Is this the best we can do?
On a more positive note some European countries cancelled the fireworks show scheduled for new years festivities, not only as a sign of morning but also to use the money allocated for the fireworks for aid purposes.
I say we shouldn't only rely on our governments, but we should act on our own and donate money through organizations such as UNICEF. The donating process is quite simple, all you need is a credit card. visit www.unicef.org to donate. I believe Canadian citizens have donated a total of 32.5 million so far, which is close to 6% of the total government promised aid.
