Huda's Story - the latest victim of the state-led terrorism
"Don't leave me alone mama, papa, take me along with you, I cannot live alone without you all. Please dear brother, sisters, don't go and leave me behind."
Repeating these words amid tears, Huda Ghalia was the lone survivor of Israeli shelling that had killed her entire family in an outing that was supposed to be pleasant, leisurely and away from daily chores.
But destiny had decided otherwise for Huda's family on the shores of the Mediterranean sea.
Only ten-year-old Huda, a fourth grade student in UNRWA school survived, making Palestinians and the world at large weep as she looked upon her father lying on the sand, mistaking his death for sleep until she saw blood seeping from his wounds, only to realise that she had lost him forever. I got this e-mail today from my friend Chet; it has a link to the blog of a Palestinian doctor who works at the hospital where the victims (from the recent beach attack on a Gaza beach) were treated. please read it and pass the message on.
I have an URGENT request to you .. I wrote the same already to Abed and Khaled in Jordan!
This morning I almost accidentally came across a blog from a phasician abd Human Right activist in Gaza, Mona Al-Farra ... her URL is http://fromgaza.blogspot.com/
She was in the hospital where little Huda and the rest of her family were treated after this horrid attack at the beach! You can imagine she's NOT in the best psychological condition and needs urgently support!
I think we ALL can make a difference here and give her the strength to keep on helping others! Please try to drop her some lines ... regularily if possible - to make her feel she is not alone!
What would be a GREAT idea as well is spread this news so that she will get mail from as many as possible people!
UPDATE: Human Rights Watch Concluded that the incident was most likely caused by a 155 mm Israeli fired shell
There have been suggestions that a mine could have been planted on the beach to deter Israeli amphibious assaults.
But an expert working for the Human Rights Watch said the Palestinians' injuries were not consistent with a blast taking place beneath them.
"It has been suggested by some that the family was killed by a land mine, and this is patently not the case," Mark Garlasco said.
"All of the evidence is pointing to a 155mm shell as having killed and injured the Palestinians here on the beach," he said [source]

Thank you for posting this, I don't think that anything has affected me this much since Vietnam. It really tears my heart out to see this happening.

Thanks so much for posting this Omar! I wish the world would wake up after seeing these heart-wrenching pictures ... if not, I really don't know what else it will take!
Let's keep on supporting her as our small contribution to make a (even TINY!) difference over there by helping her to be strong for others!

State led terrorism is correct.
Hamas explosives, not Israeli shelling, was responsible for this.
You need to investigate the details surrounding this story a little further. Much has been said the last few days about this matter.

how about u read the story carefully? i can make up bullshit like that just as easily:
"An Israeli inquiry concluded that the blast was caused by an explosive buried in the sand, not from Israeli shelling on the afternoon of the Palestinian family's beach picnic.
It was not clear how the explosive got there, or whether it might have been an unexploded Israeli shell from an earlier military barrage. Peretz did not address that issue in his remarks. Israel has been claiming that Hamas militants planted a device to set off against Israeli commandos." (Source:http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060613/ap_on_re_mi_ea/israel_blast_probe_4;_ylt=AuRADIQVyKkj1lBPQSXuDpQUvioA;_ylu=X3oDMTBiMW04NW9mBHNlYwMlJVRPUCUl )
so what....just because Israel blames Hamas they have to be right? i dont believe it for one second....that was Palestinian land, and Hamas would not do that unless it knew only Israelis would be there. Again, the media trying to make Israel look good when all they are terrorists and murderers.
UGH! dont even get me started right now!

Joseph wake up and smell the coffee man, what are you going to suggest next? that the Jenin masacre didn't happen? Or that Israel is not defying international law on a daily basis?
I did investigate the details further, read the update. Furthermore, why would I trust an Israeli investigation. That's like asking a criminal to give himself a fair trial... if you got some time I suggest you read this http://sabbah.biz/mt/archives/2006/06/13/gaza-massacre-was-caused-by-a-falling-stars/

Joseph,I don't know where you get your information, but you need to get your facts straight. What you read here is part of an article from over there. Read it and tell me if you still think the same.
The Gaza Beach attack took place at approximately 4:40PM on Friday, 9 June 2006. An Israeli naval boat stationed off the coast of Beit Lahya fired seven successive artillery shells at civilians on the beach in the Waha area, north of Beit Lahya. The shells landed on the beach, which had been crowded with men, women and children at the time. Seven civilians from the same family (father, mother and five children) were killed. A further thirty-two civilians, including thirteen children, were injured. Two of the injured sustained serious wounds. On 13 June another attack was carried out on a Gazan highway, killing eleven and injuring thirty.
Do you still think that was Hamas explosives? I don't see how.
If you want to read more on what Israel is doing, go to http://criese.blogspot.com/ The story there comes from over there. If you read it you should or I hope you will take a second look about the whole situation. There will be more posted there that comes from Palestine and Israel.

The Jenin massacre was grossly exaggerated.

The Jenin "massacre", wasn't. It was a battle, and even the Palestinians admitted the dead were combattants, not civilians, and there were about 25 killed.
You people are un-freaking-believable.
