Missing: Victoria Stafford

Update: Victoria alleged killers have been arrested, bringing a tragic end to this horrible story.

I haven’t been getting my usual dose of local news lately and such I have missed Victoria Stafford’s story, a 3rd grader who appears to be the latest victim of kidnapping. The story hits close to home in a town about half an hour of where I live. The innocent victim was caught on video “show[ing] a woman in a white puffy coat and black pants walking side-by-side with the Grade Three pupil. [With] no sign of a struggle.” (source) Parents are pleading on facebook, and traditional media trying to raise awareness.

I shudder when I hear stories like this. I cannot comprehend how any human can do harm to any other, let alone an innocent child. I hope that Victoria is okay, and that she will reappear soon.

In the meantime if you happen to live in Canada take a good look at this picture and spread the word.

    I am affected very deeply by this story and that surveillance video haunts me. Who is that woman? What could she possibly be thinking? What has she done with this beautiful, innocent child? I feel SO angry that this can happen and apparently so easily. My thought is she did NOT know the woman at all. I would bet the woman played upon her innocence to get her to come with her. I am a parent and this is my worst fear. As a result, I am probably over protective of my children. But if it can happen in a small town like Woodstock, it can happen anywhere. I have been praying at different times of the day to God, asking to please bring this child home to her family. It's just so awful. I wish I could do something to help.

    I know this little girl and her family well and despite how friendly Tori seems with this woman on the video, she would never leave her parents, and most definetly not her brother without a word of where she was. Thank you Omar for helping to spread the word. Hopefully someone out ther will see her photo and regognize her.

    It has been proven that a child will willingly go and help someone/a stranger look for there lost pet of a promise of candy because they think that a "bad person" looks like a villain from the cartoons and not like a regular man or in this case woman.I have to wonder if this person that took Victoria was not stalking the school.Its odd that when the person that was suppose to pick up Victoria from school did not show or was late which ever the case and this person takes her away were they looking for *any child alone.My hopes and prayers are with Victoria . This is every parents worst nightmare and it makes me SO angry that someone could do this.

    GOD SPEED that Victories captors have a conscience and let her go back home!

    I'm private investigator. I have a few questions regarding the missing child.
    1. In which direction was Tori walking with the person in the video? Was it away from the her school and towards her home, or was is away from her school and in the opposite direction of her home. Are the police aware how crucial this detail is?
    2. Who is the person who was used to make the composite sketch of the alleged abductor seen in the security video? Was the identity of the person in the police composite sketch verified by another other person or person who has seen the alleged abductor?
    3. This is CRITICAL : If the composite sketch was created with a description given by only one person, can it be verified that the decriptor was actually in the area when the abduction took place? In addition, has a background check been done on the desciptor if indeed there were no others who had verified the accuracy of police composite sketch?
    I have many other questions I would like to ask the local police department. I am concerned about whether I would received thier co-operation however.
    In many cases such as this it is often wise to have qualified private investigators working hand in hand with the police to resolve these cases more quickly.

    Yes something dosent add up here...
    There are the huge drug debts owed by Victorias mother, whos a known crack and meth user...
    There is the mother's relaxed demeanor smiling at the reporters and enjoying the spotlight.
    There is the fact that she has failed her lie detector test and she has contradicted herself so many times over and over...(if she has passed she wouldnt be giving ackward and contradicting explanations about her "breaking down")
    There are the bizzare fund raisings, mystery limo rides and family members changing their stories as they see fit...
    There is the fact, that the woman in the sketch looks STRIKINGLY similar to Victorias mother...
    The police can't come out and publicly say, that something here dosen't add up, since they don't have any proof (yet)...
    I'm convinced beyond a shadow of a doubt, that Victoria's mother either has something to do with her dissapearance or at the very least she knows what's going on and she's witholding information..
    Also....history shows us over and over, that drug addicted white thrashy people are capable of just about anything...it wouldn't surprise me one bit, if she sold her daughter on a black market to feed her drug habit...

    I am just going to assume here that a lot of what anonymous said at 12:48am is rumors that have been passed on from other people. We all know that people enjoy spreading gossip. Something like this is very hard to imagine unless it is something that one has been through themselves. Without this knowledge, how can we constantly scrutinize what her mother's actions are? Wouldn't you be flustered as a mother as well? Is this the important part... no not at all.. I think the important part is to find the little girl. The reason for having this spread throughout the media constantly is to bring hope to the situation and to find this little girl.. not to find imperfections in parenting.

    I agree with the last Anonymous comment. In these times we should be focusing on Vicotria's return instead of poiting the finger at the parents. I'm sure her mother has enough to deal with at the moment.

    I was very happy to see posters at the local Home Depot and coffee shops raising awareness. Hope all the effort bears fruit.

    It is truly a mystery how a little girl could vanish into thin air! I believe wholly that Tory in the video was "not" walking away willingly with the abductor; it seems that she was being pulled along. I do not feel that anybody should point a finger at "who they think is the abductor" at this point. The police will find this out sooner or later. I believe that since the abductor was not lured in by the #50000 reward, then I hate to say that the child may not be alive. I dont believe that anybody out there like psychics will find Tori(they are extreme nonsense)! I think that only God can find her after all this time. My heart goes out to the parents.....

    Obviously if they watched the video close enough.when she walks by the guy standing there if you pause the video when the woman is beside him.She is almost the same height as the guy standing there.The average guy is 5'8" or taller so if the guy in that video is 5'8" that would make the woman 5'6" or 5'7". When they stated at the first that the woman was 5'1" to 5'2".

    Lets go back to square one. AN 8 year old girl is waiting at school to be picked up to be taken home.3 people are authorized to pick her up.They pick her up every other day,why not on the day of her dissapearance.They said 2 girls were to go home with her to watch a movie after school why weren't the 2 other girls with her.Then she walks away with a mystery woman willingly without a struggle.Obviously if they watched the video close enough.when she walks by the guy standing there if you pause the video when the woman is beside him.She is almost the same height as the guy standing there.The average guy is 5'8" or taller so if the guy in that video is 5'8" that would make the woman 5'6" or 5'7". When they stated at the first that the woman was 5'1" to 5'2".As further noticed the boy walking behind them gets close to where the fence post is turns completely around for a second walking backwards for a second as if he was looking at something or someone,what was he looking at.then they get a person that does a composite drawing of the woman in question a week after the girl is already gone,that person must have photographic memory if they can remember a week later what a person looks like to have only seen them for a split second.You tell your kids never go with strangers but a mysterious limo shows up parks on anoth street then the person trespasses on other peoples properties.Then they go on a limo ride to Toronto with a complete stranger not known to them to meet another stranger in a Hotel Room for 2 hours.Must have had a lot to talk about for being in a room that long.Throughout the day before the disappearance there would have been ample video surveillance tapes around the city that this woman would have made at sometime,could have went to Tim Hortons,Grocery Store,Department Store etc. as if they were planning on taking a girl and keeping her obviously the girl would need a change of clothing or after a couple week wearing the same clothes you'd smell pretty ripe.Then mother seems to get almost daily news conferences with the press where I always believed if the press wanted answers they should be going to the people investigating the case,but notice how calm,cool,collective the mother is,if I lost a child I would be frantic not doing a grandstand show for the TV camera.Then they have these bizarre fund raisers who is profiting from this?There have been no ransom demands so obviously she wasn't taken for that purpose or something would have happened by now in that regard.Been over a month the girl is still missing,no signs or traces but a video that you cant make out cause the quality is poor that when you zoom it in its all fuzzy with pixels.But obviously there are certain people out there who know whats going on cause if a woman takes a child this woman would have aquaintances that know about it.Sooner or later they will be found as this is a bizarre case from the beginning and the person responsible is likely not to far but where is the girl. Only GOD Knows & the person or persons involved.

    The mother of missing eight year old Victoria Stafford says she's fighting an addiction to Oxycontin. Tara McDonald told the London Free Press she was introduced to the drug four years ago but is going to a methadone clinic in Woodstock for help. She says she's aware of the rumors surrounding Tori's disappearance and an unpaid drug debt, but says the two are not connected and that she never incurred any debt while using drugs. McDonald said if the abduction was about money, the reward money offered by the police, and private donors would have taken care of it. Tori has been missing since April 8.

    I believe as a community and a nation we are all feeling the heartbreak for Tori. The number one goal now is to found her and bring her home to her family. She needs to be found, So this family can begin the process that horribly awaits them. My heart goes out to both her parents and her sibling, and extended family and friends.

    The focus still needs to be on Tori, and the vigilance we as a community and nation need to up hold. A little girl so beautiful so sweet, and innocent who was been taken for the world to soon. We need to address our country an unite to finding a way to make these crimes intolerable. We need stronger punishments for such crimes involving children, and I feel this society has become to cold and we tend to neglect what is really going on in this world.

    I strongly believe the death penalty for the horrible crime of abduction for the purpose of sex, which leads to murder. Should be a capital punishment when involving a child.

    Any crime that puts a child at risk or involved a child being used for sexual intention of any kind or nature. should receive an automatic life sentence, patrol set to 25 yrs. WE need tougher laws on crimes against our innocent children. We need to say this must stop. OUR children are being put at risk with these soft laws of society. Society unfortunately has changes, we need to toughen up with it. Therefore toughening up on crimes such as this!!

    And an Amber Alert should be issued no matter what the circumstances show, IF it involved a child...it needs to issued at that given moment. I would rather have a false AA go out and the cost, then have NO AA go out or not go out in time, and this situation came about.

    Please remember no parent deserves to have this happen to them, no matter what their past behavior or ill choice actions in the past are. We must remember this-- Tori loved her mom and her dad...and we need to look through Tori's eyes. And find the same love!

    I don't agree with the death penalty (that is the subject for a future debate I imagine) but I do believe in putting all criminals into the general population of hte prison. The inmates will sort out the whole "death penalty" controversy for us.

    My heart goes out to Tori's family. I can't imagine the grief that I would feel if my children were taken from me like that. I'm not a religious man but I hope, in this case, that there is a "Hell" and that that bastard receives a dose of Dante's retribution.

    What a horrible ending to the story. As I followed it I kept hoping they will find her alive and well. When I heard the news about the arrests I was hopeful the police would be led to a living Victoria. I refused to believe that she was murdered, I just can't comprehend such an act.

    I hope the killers get the toughest of sentences. To some of the friends of Victoria's family who commented, please give my condolonces and let them know that we all feel their grief.

    Rest in peace Tori.

    Such a sad ending.I am sure when these 2 they have arrested get to prison they will have lots of protection as they will likely get a special cell built specifically for them just like Paul Bernardo got at the expense of the Canadian taxpayer,just to keep them away from the general population. The 2 must know where they put Tori's body cause they were the ones that did this vicious crime so obviously they should know where she was put or there are others involved as well that have not been apprhended yet.The law should be changed on the death penalty issue especially when it involves a child.The culprits get 25 years with a chance at being released back into society but little Tori does not get that option.I just hope her spirit comes back and haunts these Fuckers everyday of their life.
