It would be good to give credit to the artist who drew them :)

He's called Banksy, and is a British grafitti artist.

The first and third drawing are on Qalandya checkpoint, the others are in Abu dies. There are a whole lot more drawn on the wall of Bethlehem.

You can check them out here:

p.s: those are quite old pics of the paintings, many of them are now vandalized with spray on chantings. The people felt it beautified the wall, neglecting the concept behing the paintings...

that's what makes these so powerful Rahaf..

Thanks Ohoud for the comment. I was wondering whether one person, or random people drew these.

    thanks Ahmad..

Anon. it seems like you have a full grasp on the situation by your remrkably stupid comment. Last time I checked, Israel was defying international law by occupying palestininan land. Not to mention the wall was not even built on the border of the west bank and Israel, instead it was built a few km inland, a clear and undeniable land grab. Perhaps there wouldn't be suicide bombers, if Israel's policy towards Palesitinans actually changed for the better. Have you ever heard of the saying "two wrongs don't make a right"?

Good retaliation Omar. I applaud ur poise :).

As for the wall, I video taped it last year when I was there...they have some of the most beautiful sayings on there, and great poems as well. Might as well lighten it up....since it stands for such a negative idea.

thanks Jinan. Seeing those pictures reminded me of the refugee camps in Syria. I guess it's widely used method of spreading their message

"Last time I checked, Israel was defying international law by occupying palestininan land."

Um...no, Omar. Sorry, nice try but maybe you had better check again.

Only in the Arabs and possibly the (heavily Muslim-influenced) United Nations might believe this to be the case. But then, this is the UN that administered such ridiculous programs as the Oil-For-Food Program, right?

However, if we look at international law more clearly it is obvious that Israel is within its legal rights to hold the Gaza Strip and West Bank.

International law is very clear that if a nation such as Israel wages an aggressive war and conquers territory such as the West Bank and Gaza, that would be indeed be illegal. However, international law is also cear that where a war is defensive a peace treaty between the involved parties is required to settle the dispute. Of course, no such peace agreement exists between the Arab nations and Israel. Following the Six Day War, Israel offered to relinquish the occupied territories in return for a formal peace. The Arabs refused.

Actually, though Egypt and Jordan were in violation respectively of UN resolutions 181 and 194 back in the late 1940s when they illegally occupied the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. Of course, there were no complaints from the Arab world about this at the time and if they occupied the land today there would be none even now.

Kind of like Morocco's occupation of the Western Sahara, right? That occupation is illegitimate by any standard you might care to apply. Can you hear the Arab howls of rage over this illegal occupation that has been condemned by the United Nations. No, I can't either ...
