My little weekend adventure

Last weekend I decided to take a closer look at a little pond that I always passed by on the way to downtown. So I snapped a pic..

and another one..

But then I noticed a nearby trail, so decided to walk through the trees

and I walked..
and walked...when it suddenly opened up!

I turned my head to discover this small little lake, I never knew about...

so I snapped another picture,

enjoyed a few relaxing minutes near the water, and decided to come back in the summer, when the trees are green and the weather is hot, maybe for a relaxing evening with a book in hand

I would love to find a place like you found. Guess I will just have to look at the pictures and keep on dreaming. I agree with Ghalia, that is great nature.

wedad, my cheap camera doesn't do the place justice. It's even nicer in real life

Hey Ghalia, nice seeing you back :)

Chet, I was actually looking at the city road map and I noticed a ton of small lakes scattered all over. Try it out where you live, I bet there are a few lakes around you never knew existed.

hehehe this was a fun post. the funny thing is, when you come across the lake and snap a picture and go onto the next one, it lookslike you scare away the nice couple hugging next to the lake :P

    great place!

Omar I will do that. I could use a little excercise and can't think of a better way to relax than be by the lake.

our downtown is pretty lame, but a river runs through it, and at night its so beautiful to walk on the docks and look at the skyline....and there is a small grassy area where i like to go to sit and think....very serene :)

    nice pics Omar....

Linda, Linda.. only you would notice such things. I think you're right, because as I was taking a picture of the lake they kinda looked back, and walked away afterwards. I was hoping they wouldn't sue ;)

Great Chet, let me know if you find a cool spot

Jinan, that sounds pretty sweet! The description remided me of Ottawa. Take some pics and share :)

Hala bi Hala, you know too much ;) This is actually kitchener, and I'm on coop, and since you seem to know the area well. The brick building is actually St. mary's hospital. The one you're thinking of is Dana Porter. So how do you know all this?

yeah, al fizya2 il mosalieh! It's actually a 2 volume book :) As you visit more and more, you'll realize I'm just another boring geek

HEhehehe, boring geek! I keep running across those, it's like my kind calls out to their kind. Never mind....

I know this coz went to U of Waterloo and Dana Porter is the bane of my existence, hate hate. How come other people discover such beautiful areas in Waterloo-Kitchener and me, I only discover the inside of every single sleazy pub?? Thank God uni is over and I am reformed and behaved, ahem.

You at U of W? Coz you're the only other Jordanian if you are. Let's start alumni club here when you graduate in 10 years (if you're in engineering, ;) ) Sorry, I'm a mean person!
